- CONFLICT AT SEA
- V1.01.002
-
-
- THE GOAL OF THE GAME:
- Sink the computers naval fleet before the computer sinks yours
-
-
- THE SETUP PHASE:
- Before the conflict begins, your naval fleet is docked in your
- shipyard (located in the lower left corner of the screen) awaiting
- your orders. You must issue orders to each of your ships to let
- them know that they are needed in battle. To do this click on a
- ship in your shipyard, and then click on the ocean playing field
- (located above your shipyard). If you click on your ship with the
- left mouse button and place your ship, then the ship will be placed
- on the playing field while maintaining it's current facing. If you
- double click on your ship with the left mouse button, or
- single click with the right mouse button, the ship will be
- rotated 90 degrees when placed on the playing field. You can
- continue to move your ships around on your playing field at any
- time during the "Setup Phase" by clicking on your ship and then
- clicking on a new location on your playing field. Alternatively,
- you can select the "Place Random" button at the top of the screen
- and all of your ships will be placed randomly onto your playing
- field. Once you are satisfied with the positioning of your ships,
- select the "Start" button located at the top of the screen. At
- this time the computer will order it's naval fleet off to battle,
- and the game will begin!!!
-
-
- GAME PLAY:
- At the beginning of the game you are allowed five shots to fire
- against the computer's fleet (one for each ship that you control).
- If you lose a ship during the game, your total shots allowed will
- be decreased by one (since you no longer control that ship).
- These same rules apply for the computer. During your turn click on
- any empty spot on the computer's playing field for each of your
- available shots. A white 'X' will appear for each location you
- select (The computer will also be launching it's shots at this
- time too). After you, and the computer, have placed all available
- shots, this round of conflict will be resolved. A blue 'X' will be
- placed marking each miss and a red 'X' will be placed marking each
- hit. You can then fire your next round of shots and the game will
- proceed this way until someone's fleet is destroyed, or possibly
- even BOTH!!!
